Further Extension of The Deadline for Migration to New Generation E-Passports
Further to our alert on 20th of January 2021, the Government of Kenya through the Ministry of Interior & Co-ordination of National Government has further extended the deadline for the replacement of the old passports with the new generation e-passports from the initial set deadline of 31st December 2021 to November 2022. This has been instigated by the 41st Ordinary Meeting of EAC council held in Arusha back in November 2021, during which the council extended the phasing out period of all EAC Member Countries passports to November 2022. Kenya being a member state it is bound by the council’s decision. Please find the press release attached herein for your reference.
