Fiona Wairimu Ikou is a Legal Assistant in the Blue Economy and Maritime Law Unit at CM Advocates LLP in Mombasa. Armed with an LLM in International Commercial and Maritime Law from Swansea University, she brings a deep understanding of ocean governance, admiralty law, and international arbitration to her practice.Her background bridges high-level policy and boots-on-the-ground legal work. During her time with the Kenya Maritime Authority, she navigated complex regulatory frameworks and IMO conventions to support regional maritime governance. Her hands-on experience in legal drafting, case management, and litigation support built through impactful roles at FIDA Kenya and the Kenya Judiciary gives her a pragmatic, detail-oriented approach to solving complex client challenges.
She is passionate about the sustainable growth of ocean resources and focuses her practice on blue economy legal frameworks, maritime safety and security, and international dispute resolution, helping clients navigate the evolving legal landscape of the seas.
