On 25 February 2021, the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) issued a public notice directing that effective 1st  March 2021, the service of Notices of Appeal to the Commissioner should be done through iTax. This applies to cases at the Tax Appeals Tribunal (TAT), the High Court and the Court of Appeal. The public notice specifies that the aim for this requirement is to facilitate the implementation of the decisions made by the appellate bodies – the TAT, High Court and Court of Appeal.Taxpayers, Tax Agents, Tax Representatives and all persons who file appeals on tax matters should take note of this directive to avoid the dire consequences that come with lack of service of notices of appeal on the KRA.
